Scott manages tax compliance and tax consulting engagements, primarily serving entrepreneurs and closely held businesses in the real estate, health care, and service industries. Prior to joining KHA in August 2015, Scott worked for five years at a large public accounting firm in Columbus, Ohio, where he was a tax manager on compliance engagements and also worked within the firm’s national tax office as a subject matter expert on tax depreciation, cost segregation studies, fixed asset reviews, and the IRS tangible property regulations. Scott has also been self-employed in residential real estate investment and property management.
Scott graduated Summa Cum Laude at Weber State University (B.Sc. Accounting) and Summa Cum Laude at The Ohio State University (Master of Accounting), where he was awarded the Ernst & Young Award for Excellence in Scholarship, a Fisher College Pace Setter Award, and a University Fellowship Award. He has been a frequent speaker on various technical tax matters at accounting firm CPE sessions, meetings of various entrepreneurial organizations, and a variety of events at Ohio State and other academic institutions.
